  The charitable gift annuity is a deferred gift whereby an asset, for example, cash or securities, is transferred with a contractual guarantee of a specified annuity to the donor and/or another beneficiary for life.

  The gift of highly appreciated stocks and bonds, can help donors avoid paying income tax on the capital gains. The full value of the gift amount will pay an annual income to the donor since the charity does not pay tax on the sale of the stocks or bonds.
